Job summary

DoubleTree Dallas Near the Galleria in Dallas, TX is seeking an Entry level Bellperson to greet guests, assist with check-in/check-out and help with luggage. You will explain hotel facilities, keep the lobby and bellstand clean, post daily events in the lobby, and maintain clear communication across shifts.

Some duties may include airport pickups or valet tasks. Education: High School or equivalent; Experience: customer contact preferred.

Responsibilities

• Explain all hotel facilities, their location in the hotel, hours of operation, and answer all questions about these facilities and other hotel questions.
• Check luggage for hotel guests both for day and overnight.
• Maintain the designated stations in the lobby, standing alert to be easily summoned for fronts.
• Open doors while guests are being greeted in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the bellstand, lobby and baggage room.
• Post the daily events board and entertainment board in the lobby.
• Maintain an open communication line through all shifts by proper use of intershift log.
• Deliver messages and valet to guest rooms.

Job Details: Level: Entry, Job Location: DoubleTree Dallas Near the Galleria - Dallas, TX, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Job Shift: Any, BASIC PURPOSE: Perform duties of Bellperson, assisting guests upon check-in and check-out and as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Show guests to room assisting them with their luggage. (45%)


2. Explain all hotel facilities, their location in the hotel, hours of operation, and answer all questions about these facilities and other hotel questions. (15%)


3. Check luggage for hotel guests both for day and overnight. (15%)


4. Maintain the designated stations in the lobby, standing alert to be easily summoned for fronts. (5%)


5. Open doors while guests are being greeted in a friendly and courteous manner. (5%)


6. Maintain the cleanliness of the bellstand, lobby and baggage room. Keep lobby door and windows clean when not busy with guests. (3%)


7. Post the daily events board and entertainment board in the lobby. (3%)


8. Maintain an open communication line through all shifts by proper use of intershift log. (2%)


9. Deliver messages and valet to guest rooms. (2%)

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (5%)

1. Perform pick-ups and drop-offs at the airport for the guests in a timely and friendly manner and inspect vehicles.


2. May perform the duties of a valet.


3. Assist front desk with key inventory twice weekly.

Knowledge and Skills:

Education: High School Education or equivalent experience

Experience: Customer Contact Experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate with guests, respond to questions, knowledge of hotel services, local area events and activities. Ability to drive vans, limousines and automobiles and an excellent driving record as verified by a Motor Vehicle Report preferred. Second language may be desired.
