Job summary

ATC in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Customer Service Technical Support Representative to serve as the primary technical interface between customers, distributors, installers, and dealers for remanufactured engines and transmissions.

The role provides real-time diagnostic and troubleshooting support, verifies proper installation, and manages warranty claims in line with company policies to reduce returns and protect warranty costs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Automotive Technology with ASE certification(s) or equivalent experience.
• 3-7+ years in automotive service and repair, especially engines and transmissions.
• Experience in technical support or field service within remanufacturing or OEM/dealer environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide phone and email-based technical support for remanufactured engines and transmissions
• Assist installers and technicians with installation procedures and best practices
• Support electronic control system integration (TCM/PCM relearn, adaptive drive cycles)
• Perform diagnostic troubleshooting (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical) and identify root causes
• Guide customers through validation before authorizing returns (RMA)
• Evaluate warranty claims for eligibility and document required records
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Engineering on systemic issues
• Maintain call logs and knowledge base for future reference
• De-escalate customer concerns and maintain high satisfaction while enforcing policies
