Job summary

Power Train Auto Service in Bowie, Maryland is seeking an Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair a broad range of vehicles. The role offers a flat-rate pay model of $35-$40 per flagged hour with weekly paper checks and a MarylandSaves retirement program.

Five bays and professional tools support a diverse repair workload in a small team environment. The ideal candidate has hands-on repair experience, with proven engine and transmission removal/replacement skills, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive repair experience beyond basic maintenance.
• Previous experience removing and replacing engines and transmissions.
• Ability to diagnose vehicle concerns and complete assigned repairs.
• Ability to use automotive diagnostic equipment and scan tools.
• Ability to research repair procedures, diagrams, and parts information.
• Ability to communicate repair and parts information clearly with the shop team.
• Maryland state inspection license preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair customer vehicles across a variety of makes and models.
• Complete assigned repair work from initial diagnosis through final repair.
• Remove and replace engines and transmissions.
• Use Bosch and Autel diagnostic scan tools to support automotive diagnostics.
• Use ALLDATA to research repair procedures, diagrams, components, and parts information.
• Identify needed components accurately and communicate specific parts information to the Service Advisor.
• Perform job-related road testing as part of the repair process.
• Complete both general automotive repairs and more involved mechanical work.
