Job summary

Power Train Auto Service in Bowie, MD is seeking an Automotive Technician to perform hands-on general repair work, including engine and transmission removal and repair, at a flat-rate of $35-$40 per flagged hour.

The shop features five bays with five lifts, an alignment rack, and uses Bosch and Autel scan tools along with ALLDATA for repair procedures and information; a small team reports to the owner.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive repair experience beyond basic maintenance services.
• Experience removing and replacing engines and transmissions.
• Ability to diagnose vehicle concerns and complete assigned repairs.
• Ability to research repair procedures, diagrams, and parts information.
• Maryland state inspection license preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair customer vehicles across a variety of makes and models.
• Complete assigned repair work from initial diagnosis through final repair.
• Remove and replace engines and transmissions.
• Use Bosch and Autel diagnostic scan tools to support automotive diagnostics.
• Use ALLDATA to research repair procedures, diagrams, components, and parts information.
• Identify needed components accurately and communicate specific parts information to the Service Advisor.
• Perform job-related road testing as part of the repair process.
• Complete both general automotive repairs and more involved mechanical work.
