Job summary

StandardAero in Augusta, GA is seeking a Licensed Mechanic I, Engines for the 3rd shift to perform overhauls, major inspections, and heavy maintenance on Honeywell turbofan engines. You will use precision tools, reference OEM manuals, and troubleshoot complex engine issues.

The role requires a minimum of 1 year of heavy maintenance experience as a Licensed A&P, turbine engine training, and availability for night shift.

Qualifications

  • Experience using precision instruments (micrometers, torque wrenches, calipers).
  • Ability to reference OEM manuals and maintenance documents.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing turbine engines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform overhauls, major inspections, and heavy maintenance on Honeywell turbofan engines.
  • Disassemble/reassemble engine modules and install engines on aircraft for inspections.
  • Conduct engine runs and line maintenance as required.
  • Evaluate removed components for serviceability and document discrepancies.
  • Document all work clearly and accurately in maintenance records.
  • Follow Service Bulletins, Repair Letters, and Airworthiness Directives.
  • Participate in ongoing training with CAE, FlightSafety, and Honeywell.

Licensed Mechanic I, Engines – 3rd Shift

As a 3rd Shift Engine Mechanic at StandardAero in Augusta, GA, you will put your skills and powerplant expertise to use performing overhauls, major inspections, and heavy maintenance on Honeywell turbofan engines.

What To Expect In This Role
  • Utilize precision instruments such as micrometers, torque wrenches, and calipers to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair engines and APUs.
  • Navigate, research, and reference technical digital documents, OEM Light and Heavy Maintenance manuals.
  • Perform routine maintenance and major inspections on Honeywell engine types and models.
  • Disassembly and re‑assembly of Honeywell engine types and models.
  • Remove and reinstall engines on aircraft for major periodic inspections and core zone inspections.
  • Perform incoming and outgoing engine runs and line maintenance, as required.
  • Evaluates removed components for serviceability and document discrepancies.
  • Document all work accomplished in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
  • Accomplishes Service Bulletins, Repair Letters and Airworthiness Directive.
  • Participate in ongoing training initiatives on and off site through partners like CAE, FlightSafety, and Honeywell.
Position Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience performing heavy maintenance as a Licensed A&P Mechanic.
  • Technical training on turbine engines in the areas of inspections, maintenance, preventive maintenance, alterations, and repairs.
  • Must be available to work 3rd shift, with overtime as business needs require.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • High School diploma or GED.
Preferred Characteristics
  • 3+ years of experience inspecting, maintaining and repairing turbofan engines.
  • Experience working on the Honeywell HTF7000 and/or TFE731 engine lines.
  • Previous experience locating and applying FAA regulations, Advisory Circulars, Orders, and Notices.
