If you want to be part of something special, consider a career opportunity at our advanced technology engine services overhaul facility. Here, employees are helping to restore commercial and military jet engines to their fullest functionality, efficiency, and performance.

We have experienced teams working in plasma, frame and wire spraying, polyurethane and sermetel painting as well as heat treating, brazing, and TIG welding operations. In addition to comprehensive internal engine repair/overhaul, we also operate a world-class evaluation and testing facility that's FEDEC capable.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Full-time positions exist for energetic and self-motivated mechanics who desire to advance their skills and work with state-of-the-art turbine engine overhaul and service processes. The GE Engine Services facility is dedicated to the repair and service of GE manufactured jet engines and has been a major employer in South Central Kansas for over 4 decades.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  1. Perform operations necessary for the assembly/disassembly of engines, components, and accessories following technical and standard work practices.
  2. Conduct comprehensive examinations of hardware for serviceability and airworthiness certification.
  3. Manage routing and movement of assemblies, hardware, tooling, and other materials in support of assigned areas.
  4. Operate balance equipment and perform functional tests on components and accessories.
  5. Troubleshoot in-process problems, malfunctions, or component failures within technical guidelines.
  6. Verify that work complies with technical specifications, manuals, or other quality criteria.
  7. Use all types of precision measuring instruments, hand and power tools, shop equipment, and machinery as assigned.
  8. Maintain records and perform related duties.
  9. Perform cleaning, processing, repair, rework, or modification of engine hardware, tools, and fixtures using standard procedures.
  10. Conduct functional tests and maintain process controls.
  11. Handle routing and movement of assemblies and materials.
  12. Verify work accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
  13. Support material provision functions, including verification, receiving, storing, disbursing, and packaging.
  14. Maintain accurate transaction records and control of materials.

Note: Assignments may include any of the operations described above.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High School Diploma / GED with FAA Powerplant Mechanic Certification/License or at least two years of aircraft engine (gas turbine) maintenance experience.

OR

  • 2 years of Diesel/Auto mechanic experience from certified technical college or current automotive ASE Certification or equivalent.
  • Ability and willingness to work any shift.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • US Citizen.
  • Proficiency with basic hand and power tools.
Desired Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience as an aircraft turbine engine mechanic.
  • A&P Licenses.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Final employment offers depend on obtaining authorization for access from the U.S. Government if applicable.
