Job summary

Stellantis in Michigan is seeking an Engine Dyno Test Cell Operator to support engine and transmission testing on the 2nd shift. You will install test articles, perform standard engine maintenance, change parts, and perform light fabrication including MIG/TIG welding.

You will work with powertrain development engineers, operate the dynamometer control system, and adjust spark advance, fuel-air ratio, cam position, and valve position while ensuring system integrity and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working as an automotive mechanic, automotive tech, or a related position.
• Willingness to work in a team-based environment.
• Basic knowledge of operating a computer.
• Possession of a mechanics toolbox and hand tool set.
• Willing to work 2nd shift; must be able to work any shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical support associated with engine and transmission testing on 2nd shift.
• Test article cart installation & removal.
• Standard engine maintenances (oil changes, spark plug changes, compression/leak down checks, etc.).
• Part changes (cylinder heads, exhaust manifolds, etc.).
• Light fabrication (MIG & TIG welding, machining, cutting, etc.).
• Starting & stopping the test article; run defined tests via the dynamometer control system.
