Amentum is hiring an Engine Test Technician for the Engine Dyno lab in Dearborn, MI. The role involves conducting gasoline and diesel engine dynamometer tests, supporting development and durability tests, and ensuring data integrity and equipment calibration.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma, knowledge of engines and powertrain, and strong communication skills; an Associates degree in Automotive Technology or equivalent testing experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Knowledge of engines and powertrain.
• Desire to pursue an Associate's degree or related field.
• Experience with engine/powertrain dynamometer testing preferred.
• Good interpersonal, computer, oral and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct gasoline and diesel engine dynamometer testing.
• Support development, durability and performance testing.
• Collect, review and validate data; make engineering recommendations.
• Fabricate basic fixtures as needed.
• Interface with technologists and engineers on tests and procedures.
• Verify calibration and maintenance of test equipment.
• Install engines on dynamometer, hook up instrumentation, diagnose issues and run tests.
