Job summary

Kinder Morgan, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Technician to perform engine and compressor optical frame alignment profiles at our Amarillo, TX location. You will advise on repair recommendations and help scope and cost repair plans for compressor and engine frames.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, troubleshooting alignment issues, and training others on optical equipment and procedures. Travel and accurate documentation are required to support plant reliability and safety

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Solid math skills and basic computer skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Experience with high pressure gas and reciprocating engines.
• Proficient with optical profiling and laser alignment equipment.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform engine and compressor optical frame alignment profiles.
• Provide engine and compressor frame repair recommendations / repair plans.
• Provide project scoping for engine and compressor frame repair recommendations.
• Provide cost estimates for engine and compressor frame repair recommendations.
• Rectify and repair compressor & engine frame alignment issues.
• Perform routine engine and compressor maintenance activities.
• Provide corrective actions to resolve engine and compressor frame alignment problems.
• Provide training on optical equipment and maintenance policies and procedures.
• Assist in equipment failure analysis and development of repair plans.
• Complete documentation and communicate mechanical condition to management.
• Provide mechanical assistance in maintenance of plant equipment.
• Comply with company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with start-up and integrity evaluation of repaired equipment.
• Communicate professionally with a wide range of people.
• Manage other related duties as assigned.
