Job summary

Woodridge School District 68 is seeking an Early Childhood Teaching Assistant for a 6.5-hour position. The role supports teachers by providing feedback on student progress, organizing instructional tasks, and assisting in small-group activities, daily routines, and classroom management.

The selected candidate will maintain observations aligned with IEP goals, help with mobility and self-care tasks, and participate in trainings to support student independence.

Qualifications

• PEL with Paraprofessional Statement of Approval must be current and active in Illinois.
• State Board of Education and School Code qualifications maintained annually.
• CPI or equivalent restraint and timeout certification up to date.

Responsibilities

• Provide feedback on child progress, interests, or challenges to the teacher.
• Assist with organization and implementation of instructional tasks and materials.
• Support learning in small groups or one-on-one as requested.
• Record observations in line with curriculum and IEP goals.
• Assist with daily routines and classroom tasks (bus duty, arrival/departure, library, activities).
• Prepare materials, snack, and classroom setup; maintain cleanliness.
• Participate in in-service trainings as assigned.
• Support student independence using prompting hierarchy as directed.
• Assist with behavior management under supervision, including guided self-management strategies.
