Job summary

Woodridge School District 68 is seeking a Teaching Assistant for a K-6 special education setting. The role supports students with disabilities, assists with instructional tasks, and collaborates with teachers to implement IEP goals.

Responsibilities include small-group instruction, behavior support, daily routines, and assisting with mobility and self-care needs. This position runs 7 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

Must possess a ParaProfessional Statement of Approval issued by the Illiniois State Board of Education.

Responsibilities

Provides feedback with teachers regarding progress, interests, or challenges.
Assists with organization and implementation of instructional tasks and materials.
Works with individuals and small groups for review, reinforcement, enrichment, and expansion.
Records observations of student behaviors and performance per curriculum and IEP goals.
Assists with door, hall, and recess duties as needed.
Participates in in-service trainings as assigned.
Uses observation, proximity and prompting strategies to maximize independence.
Assists with behavior management under guidance, including specific intervention strategies.
Maintains confidentiality of student and staff information per district procedures.
Assists with self-care needs including feeding, mealtime, toileting and hygiene.
Assists with mobility needs including lifting and transferring when directed by staff.
Supports participation in specials (art, PE, music, etc.).
Performs other duties as assigned.
