Requirements include an Educational Aide Permit or Paraprofessional License, a high school diploma with postsecondary training in disabilities preferred, strong communication, and the ability to lift at least 60 lbs. Training and exam requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Educational Aide Permit or Paraprofessional License.
• High School Diploma with postsecondary training/education in working with and educating individuals with disabilities preferred
• Effective communication skills to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with students with disabilities and staff
• Ability to lift at least 60 lbs.
• Willingness to attend training to qualify for duties
• Must pass Educational Assistant Examination

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing special education and related services as directed by the teacher.
• Assist with instructional tasks and classroom activities.
• Support pupil supervision during transitions and activities per IEPs.
• Assist pupils with health care and hygiene needs.
• Contribute to conferences and collaboration with staff regarding pupil welfare.
