Job summary

Virginia Guesthouse Hotel & Conference Center is seeking a motivated Bartender to join our opening team at the University of Virginia Grounds, a 214-room hotel with 25,000 sq ft of conference space. You’ll deliver memorable service and craft beverages with precision from day one.

You will manage bar setup, support servers, describe drinks on the menu, take accurate orders, and ensure timely bill presentation while maintaining stock and garnishes.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of bartender experience
• Current bartender certification or license
• Knowledge of the latest mixology trends
• Descriptive and sales-oriented communication
• Engaging and welcoming personality

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and assist at the bar area
• Maintain bar setup and stock daily
• Guide guests on beverage journey with menu descriptions
• Take accurate orders and confirm special requests
• Prepare and present drinks following standard recipes
• Collaborate with restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff
• Present bills in a timely, accurate manner
• Stock beer, wine, spirits and garnishes
• Input orders into POS and create guest checks
• Secure beverages and cash deposits after shifts
