Job summary

Chess Wizards is seeking enthusiastic, reliable instructors to join our after-school enrichment program in Seattle. Lead fun chess classes for elementary students using our curriculum. Flexible schedule of 1–5 classes per week, typically afternoons.

You'll receive full training, mileage reimbursement, and opportunities for advancement. Must have experience with children, be punctual, and uphold safety protocols. Seattle residency preferred; relocation not provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children in educational or recreational settings.
• Ability to lead a class independently and keep sessions engaging.
• Strong, positive role model with good sportsmanship and safety awareness.
• Solid understanding of chess fundamentals and ability to teach age-appropriate concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Teach chess fundamentals using our structured curriculum.
• Maintain a lively, safe classroom environment and manage behavior.
• Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Travel to various local school sites for each session and arrive prepared.
