Job summary

YMCA of the Suncoast seeks a dedicated Before and After School Staff member for the Bishop Larkin Catholic Church location in Port Richey, FL. You will help guide a group of children through safe, engaging activities aligned with YMCA goals.

The role emphasizes supervision, attendance, behavior guidance, and collaborative programming with families and school partners. Training and certifications support ongoing youth development in a dynamic after-school environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to supervise and instruct large groups of children and ensure safety.
• Need CPR/First Aid training or willingness to complete.
• Experience with youth programming and active engagement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a designated group of children to ensure safety.
• Maintain attendance records and verify attendance.
• Document absences, injuries and incidents per YMCA policies.
• Use positive reinforcement and address inappropriate behavior.
• Facilitate programming that supports academic growth and enrichment.
• Build relationships and foster belonging among children, parents, volunteers and staff.
• Ensure a welcoming, secure environment and report suspicious activity.
• Educate members about YMCA services and initiatives and connect them with offerings.
