Job summary

Bellwood Developmental Center in Bellwood, IL, seeks an Activity Assistant/Aide to support planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational, social, intellectual and emotional programs aligned with each resident's assessment and care plan.

You will observe resident involvement, maintain care notes, coordinate with other departments, prepare activity spaces, and assist residents with crafts and visits while upholding dignity and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department is preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating the activity programs & quality assurance program in this facility for the Activities Department.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement and report accordingly.
• Develop & maintain a good working rapport with other departments to assure daily activities run without interruption.
• Assist in preparing activity rooms/areas for scheduled activity programs.
• Follow the care plan in providing daily activities for residents.
