Job summary

Onyx Care of Farmerville is seeking an experienced Activity Director to lead and evaluate recreational and therapeutic programs for residents at our post-acute rehabilitation center in Farmerville, LA.

You will recruit volunteers, collaborate with nursing, therapy, and dietary teams to create individualized plans, maintain records, and stay current with best practices in activity direction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in activity direction or related field.
• Passion for creating meaningful, engaging experiences for seniors.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with staff, patients, and families.
• Ability to develop activities for diverse resident populations.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a diverse range of activities to cater to residents.
• Recruit and train volunteers to assist with activities.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and dietary staff to develop care plans.
• Conduct assessments to identify preferences and abilities and modify activities accordingly.
• Maintain records of activities, participation, and outcomes.
• Provide education on activities, leisure, and relaxation techniques to patients, families, and staff.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and implement new ideas.
