Job summary

BEAR CREEK ELEMENTARY in Houston, TX, seeks a 4th Grade Math/Science teacher to deliver instruction aligned with district curriculum and TEA guidelines. The role requires ESL certification for K-5 or self-contained assignments, a valid Texas teaching certificate, and strong classroom management skills.

Responsibilities include planning engaging lessons, collaborating with staff, differentiating instruction, and supervising extracurricular activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned.
• ESL certification required for K-5 RLA or self-contained/GENERAL education classrooms.
• ESL certification preferred for Math, Science, Social Studies assignments.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Student teaching or approved internship experience.
• Physically able to monitor student discipline and progress and move about the room.

Responsibilities

• Provide students with learning activities and experiences for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
• Instruct using district curriculum and Texas TEA guidelines.
• Collaborate with staff for instructional goals and best practices.
• Design learning experiences with digital tools to promote student creativity.
• Assist in selection of books, equipment, and materials.
• Plan and use assessments to monitor student progress and adapt delivery.
• Sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned.
