Job summary

BakerRipley Community Schools is seeking a Lead Teacher to deliver TEKS-aligned instruction in a collaborative, inclusive classroom in Houston, TX. You will interpret student data and adjust teaching methods while integrating technology to enhance learning.

Ideal candidates hold a Texas teaching certification (ESL preferred) and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues to support each student’s growth and success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• Valid Texas state certification or license as a teacher. ESL supplement preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Internalize and deliver lesson plans aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for the assigned content and grade level.
• Provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
• Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary.
• Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and families to ensure student success.
• Implement PBIS and other behavior management strategies.
• Ability to effectively manage a classroom and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Be able to interpret and explain student data and progress monitoring.
• Experience using technology and multimedia resources in the classroom.
• Stay current on best practices and developments in education.
