Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the district curriculum requirements and show written evidence of preparation as required.
• Plan and use instructional strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect understanding of student learning styles and needs.
• Work with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs and district requirements.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
• Be a positive role model and support the mission of the school district.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and manage student behavior.
• Establish professional relationships and open communication with parents and colleagues.
• Participate in staff development activities and comply with regulations and policies.
• Direct the work of instructional aides, if assigned.
