Job summary

The Office of Advancement at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT seeks an Assistant Director of Engagement Operations to manage Salesforce Marketing Cloud platforms, build reports, and edit donor communications. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, digital communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field with 2 years of experience.
• Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or equivalent enterprise-grade email platform.
• Excellent writing for social media and email channels.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and databases.
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS for email.
• Experience with Qualtrics or similar survey tools.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with varied teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Advancement staff expert on Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Manage vendor relationships and evaluate service delivery.
• Oversee system documentation, updates, and email data maintenance.
• Build reports in the CRM and import data from SFMC.
• Create, test, and send bulk emails; lead operations with event owners.
• Review and recommend updates to communications calendars.
• Lead platforms and initiatives, including surveys via Qualtrics.
• Determine segmentation criteria for mailing lists and mail file generation.
• Analyze email analytics and advise on data-driven strategies.
• Balance departmental resources and cross-train colleagues.
