Job summary

The State of Louisiana DOTD seeks an Enforcement Sergeant – Region 3 Training Coordinator in Baton Rouge to supervise field operations, coordinate training, and ensure compliance with state and federal certifications for DOTD Police personnel. This role blends enforcement leadership with program oversight, including records maintenance, staff supervision, budgeting, and enforcing traffic and safety laws.

Qualifications

Four years of law enforcement experience protecting transportation infrastructure, or five years POST-certified with arrest power.
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Active POST certification is required.

Responsibilities

Coordinate regional training and compliance by maintaining training records and certifications for DOTD Police personnel.
Supervise and perform law enforcement operations involving size/weight/permits/registration/taxation/traffic/criminal laws to protect Louisiana’s highway system.
Serve as a subject-matter liaison for firearms, defensive tactics, and use-of-force training, keeping current with laws and training requirements.
Supervise personnel and administrative operations: review leave, overtime, training, and assignments; ensure reports and inventories are completed; monitor equipment and vehicles.
