Qualifications

  • A Doctorate of Jurisprudence with 5+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney
  • Indiana Bar Admission in good standing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statutes, case law, and rules
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to use a case management system to manage a docket, case information and filings
  • Strong legal research, writing, and litigation skills

Responsibilities

  • May train, manage, delegate to, and/or provide support for legal support staff
  • Advise and provide legal support to agency staff on program and legal areas
  • Oversee, draft, review, or provide legal advice relating to contracts
  • Research, interpret and provide legal advice on laws, rules, policies and opinions pertaining to agency operations
  • Draft and review legislation and administrative rules
  • Prepare hearing documents, including orders and decisions
  • Recruit, select, onboard and train employees for role responsibilities and development
  • Set expectations, monitor progress, provide feedback and evaluate performance of employees
