Responsibilities

• Handle all phases of litigation, including investigation, pleadings, motions, and briefs; coordinate with agencies and witnesses.
• Appear for hearings and conferences before boards and courts; negotiate settlements.
• Manage a large caseload efficiently and deliver timely case activity documentation.
• Supervise assigned staff as needed and ensure quality work.
• Maintain and improve legal skills through seminars, case law updates, and reading.
• Foster professional, positive relationships with peers, agencies, boards and the public.
• Perform other duties and complete special projects as assigned.

About the Office of the Attorney General:

The Office of the Indiana Attorney General represents the state in cases involving the state's interest, provides legal defense to state officials or agencies in court, and gives formal legal advisory opinions on constitutional or legal questions to state officials. The Office of the Indiana Attorney General is an Equal Opportunity Employer offering a hybrid work model allowing for the possibility of working two remote days per week.

• Responsible for all phases of litigation, including all necessary investigation, preparation and filing of pleadings, motions, and briefs; consultations with agencies, witness interviews; appearances for all hearings and conferences before respective boards and courts; and settlement negotiation.
• Manages a large caseload and provides effective and efficient delivery of legal services.
• Prepares case files for all proceedings and timely documents all case activity in accordance with current accepted office policies.
• Supervise work of assigned law clerks, analysts and investigators as necessary.
• Maintains and improves legal skills by attending seminars, conferences, and timely reading of recent case law, statutes, and applicable journals.
• Maintains a professional and positive relationship with peers, co-workers, outside agencies, board directors and board members, and the public.
• Performs other duties and completes special projects as assigned.

Salary Statement:

The salary range is: $76,597.00 - $104,000.00.
