Job summary

Ategrity Specialty Insurance Company is seeking an AVP, Underwriting – Energy to lead complex energy risk underwriting and broker relations across the U.S. This market-facing role focuses on upstream and midstream energy, pricing, negotiating, and growing profitable energy business within established authority.

You will mentor underwriters, collaborate across Claims, Actuarial, and Reinsurance, and help shape energy portfolio strategy while maintaining strict adherence to underwriting standards

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial insurance underwriting in the U.S. Energy market.
• Deep expertise in upstream and midstream Energy risks.
• Strong technical knowledge of Energy operations and P&C exposures.
• Experience underwriting primary and excess Energy and complex layered programs.
• Established relationships with retail and wholesale brokers in U.S. Energy market.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage Energy business within authority and appetite.
• Own book performance across premium, profitability, retention.
• Develop a pipeline of opportunities with retail and wholesale brokers.
• Provide technical underwriting expertise on Energy risks and policy forms.
• Lead broker and market development with key brokers.
• Maintain market presence with brokers, insureds, risk managers.
• Support portfolio and capacity management decisions.
• Develop underwriting talent across the team.
• Collaborate with Claims, Actuarial, Reinsurance, Ops, Tech.
