Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking a VP, Senior UW Manager - Energy Casualty in Houston or New York. The hybrid role will oversee market facing underwriters, identify growth, and guide underwriting decisions.

You will coach a team, manage broker relationships, and ensure deals align with strategy across the Energy Casualty segment. The position requires extensive underwriting leadership with a strong energy casualty background and proven track record in driving results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years in underwriting or related area within commercial insurance
• Or Bachelor's degree with 20+ years in claims or underwriting support within commercial insurance
• Energy Casualty experience
• 2+ years of people management experience

Responsibilities

• Manage up to 6-8 market facing underwriters who seek renewal and new account opportunities
• Identify new growth opportunities with key distributors for areas of responsibility
• Ensure accounts are qualified and align with appetite and opportunity
• Lead agent/broker/customer calls with planning and purpose
• Oversee negotiations of Terms & Conditions and closes deals
• Provide coaching on sales best practices and mentor staff to develop broker/client networks
