Job summary

AIG in Houston is seeking an Underwriter I, Energy to help grow our energy portfolio. You will underwrite new and renewal energy business and collaborate with brokers, subject matter experts, and risk reviews to drive profitable growth.

The role covers Power & Utilities, Renewables, Oil & Gas, Chemical and Mining, with emphasis on broker relationships and accurate monthly submissions, bind rate and premium metrics.

Qualifications

• Some underwriting experience preferred, but related experience is welcome.
• Ability to analyze financial statements.
• Strong communication, networking and relationship-building skills.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Customer- and sales-oriented behaviors: motivated, tenacious, focused, proactive and accountable.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal energy business to drive profitable growth.
• Support Minor Lines (Power & Utilities, Renewables, Oil and Gas, Chemical and Mining).
• Build and maintain broker relationships and provide excellent service to brokers.
• Generate new business by expanding broker network and attending broker events."
• Provide accurate monthly management information: submissions, bind rate, average premium and total premium.
