Job summary

Our client, an Am Law firm, seeks an Energy Transactional Associate (3–7 years) to join its Energy Practice in Richmond, Virginia, or Washington, D.C. The role centers on sophisticated energy transactions, with emphasis on renewable and clean energy projects.

The candidate will advise on buy-side and sell-side M&A, draft and negotiate transaction documents, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams with strong writing and analytical skills and admission in Virginia or DC.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• 3-7 years of M&A and/or corporate transactional experience.
• Admission and good standing in Virginia or the District of Columbia.
• Strong writing, communication, analytical, and transactional skills.
• Sound judgment and ability to handle complex matters in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on M&A and corporate transactions in the energy sector.
• Handle buy-side and sell-side transactions involving renewable energy assets and projects.
• Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents and support matters throughout the deal lifecycle.
• Work collaboratively with clients and multidisciplinary legal teams on sophisticated energy transactions.
