Job summary

Fredrikson & Byron seeks a transactional associate with 2–5 years of experience to join our Energy department. The role focuses on commercial contracts, supplier agreements, power procurement, energy storage contracting, construction agreements, M&A transactions, and project finance. Ideal candidates will have a J.D.

from an ABA-accredited law school, an active U.S. license, and strong writing and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of legal experience in private practice or related in-house positions.
• Interest in the energy industry.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills.
• Strong academic background.
• J.D. from an ABA-Accredited Law School.
• Active attorney license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• The ability to practice law or the ability to become admitted in the state of New York is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle commercial/transactional matters including contracts and supplier agreements.
• Work on energy storage contracting and power procurement arrangements.
• Assist with construction agreements, M&A transactions, and project finance.
• Collaborate with team and other departments to support deals.
