Job summary

Fredrikson & Byron, P.A. is seeking a transactional associate with 2-5 years of experience to join our Energy department in Minneapolis, with a hybrid work arrangement. The role covers commercial contracts, supplier agreements, energy procurement, energy storage contracting, construction agreements, M&A, and project finance.

Qualified candidates have a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, an active U.S. license, and strong writing and analytical skills, with interest in the energy industry.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of legal experience in private practice or related in-house positions.
• Interest in the energy industry.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills.
• Strong academic background.
• J.D. from ABA-Accredited Law School.
• Active attorney license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Ability to practice law or admission in New York is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle commercial/transactional work including contracts, supplier agreements, energy procurement arrangements, energy storage contracting, construction agreements.
• Involve in M&A transactions, project finance, and other strategic transactions in energy industry.
• Support hybrid work arrangements with case-by-case office or remote considerations.
