Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking a Quantitative Analyst II to analyze pricing trends, develop quantitative insights, and support risk management for a diverse energy portfolio. You will work with traders and quants to optimize value across renewables, storage, and retail supply assets.

The role requires a quantitative degree and 2+ years of experience, with Python and/or R, SQL databases, and collaboration in a Git-driven environment. Hybrid work with 3 days in-office per week is offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, CS, Physics, Finance or related field.
  • 2+ years in quantitative analytics, market analysis, or trading analytics.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or R required.
  • Experience with data science techniques and automated reporting.
  • Experience querying relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
  • Ability to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze pricing trends and perform fundamental power market analysis to support trading decisions.
  • Develop quantitative insights and trading strategies for asset-backed portfolios.
  • Reconcile and explain portfolio P&L results with accurate representation.
  • Build tools and reporting to improve visibility into risk and profitability.
  • Promote rigorous modeling standards and collaborative software development practices.
  • Collaborate on forecasts and renewables, storage, and retail energy forecasting.
  • Support development of new structured and traded products with traders.
  • Develop analytical frameworks to monitor portfolio risk and positions.
  • Enhance deal pricing frameworks to align models with market realities.
