Job summary

Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. is seeking an 1H Associate Engineer to promote and coordinate the installation of electric and gas facilities for major commercial and industrial customers.

You will evaluate site conditions, load data, and costs while guiding customers through billing procedures and service classifications. Under supervision, you will build relationships with engineers, architects, customers, and developers, providing technical advice on distribution systems and energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 2 years of work experience, including 1 year engineering work experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers and act as a liaison for energy-related matters.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, exercise judgment, and communicate effectively with customers and management.

Responsibilities

• Provide specifications and coordinate construction schedules with customers and the Company.
• Meet with commercial and industrial customers to evaluate electricity and gas requirements and promote teamwork in construction.
• Develop relationships with engineers, architects, customers, and developers to ensure timely energy service.
• Offer technical advice on distribution systems, energy efficiency, load factor improvements, and demand control options.
• Assist with system troubleshooting and customer problem resolution, maintaining positive relations with stakeholders.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable codes, standards, policies, and construction guidelines.
• Prepare periodic reports and load forecasts; support account management and customer interactions at all levels.
• Handle customer inquiries quickly and professionally, ensuring satisfactory resolution.
