Orange & Rockland Utilities, a Con Edison subsidiary, seeks an 1H Associate Engineer to promote electric and gas facilities for major commercial and industrial customers. You will evaluate site conditions and load data to determine costs and ensure customers understand billing, rates, and service classifications.

The role emphasizes customer-facing responsibilities, engineering judgment, and collaboration with stakeholders to deliver safe, reliable energy services while meeting industry codes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with at least 2 years' engineering/related experience, including operations or project management.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills are essential for interaction with customers and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, take initiative, and maintain professional relationships with clients and internal teams.
• Knowledge of gas rates, gas construction, and relevant codes and equipment is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate construction schedules and provide specifications to meet customer and Company requirements.
• Meet with commercial/industrial customers to assess electric/gas requirements and promote collaboration across the project lifecycle.
• Develop relationships with engineers, architects, developers, and stakeholders to ensure timely energy service delivery.
• Provide technical advice on distribution systems, energy efficiency, load management, and equipment needs.
• Assist customers with system troubleshooting using metering devices and test equipment, maintaining strong customer relations.
• Maintain knowledge of codes, policies, and standards and contribute to periodic reports and forecasts.
