Musashi Energy Solutions Co. is seeking a dual-role Field Application Engineer and Test Engineer in Austin, TX. The role blends hands-on lab testing with customer-facing design-in support for energy-storage systems, batteries, and modules.

You will develop test plans, analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with lithium‑ion batteries, battery systems, or related energy storage technologies.
• Strong understanding of battery characteristics: voltage, current, capacity, energy, C-rate, SOC, SOH, resistance, temperature.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans for cells, modules, battery packs, and energy-storage systems.
• Perform electrical, thermal, environmental, performance, reliability, and life-cycle testing.
• Characterize system voltage, current, capacity, energy, power, impedance, temperature, and efficiency.
• Test energy-management systems including cell monitoring, balancing, protection functions, SOC/SOH algorithms, and fault handling.
• Develop automated test procedures and data-acquisition systems where practical.
• Configure and operate lab equipment (loads, power supplies, cyclers, scopes, DAQs).
• Analyze test data and identify trends, anomalies, and failure mechanisms.
• Collaborate with design engineers to reproduce field issues in the lab.
• Travel to customer sites as needed.
