Job summary

Flatiron Energy is seeking a Counsel to support commercial, financing, and development objectives across a large portfolio of utility-scale standalone storage projects. The role partners with cross-functional teams to negotiate critical agreements, execute transactions, and advance projects from development through operations.

The ideal candidate has a Juris Doctor with 2–5 years in renewable energy or energy storage, strong drafting/negotiation skills, and is comfortable engaging with senior

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor with 2–5 years' energy industry experience.
• Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Experience supporting complex energy transactions including project finance.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
• Interest across lifecycle of energy storage projects.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
• Lean, collaborative environment with meaningful responsibility.
• Applicants with project finance/investment transactions or EPC/procurement experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of discrete transactions and project workstreams with guidance from Senior Counsel.
• Provide legal support for project financings and investment transactions with lenders and investors.
• Develop, negotiate, and execute key project agreements including EPC and O&M contracts.
• Coordinate with development, finance, asset management, and operations teams to identify risks and solutions.
• Manage the contracted portfolio and ongoing interpretation of project documents.
• Coordinate with external counsel, counterparties, and advisors to execute transactions.
