Job summary

Fluidstack is building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI and seeks a Facility Controls engineer to own the control and data contracts between energy controllers and plant controllers. You will define operations sequences for normal operation, shortfalls, transitions, and emergency shed, and translate electrical constraints into software requirements for the team.

Qualifications

• Experience in data contracts between two systems: objects, fields, units, update rates, and stale data.
• Proficient in integrating systems using MQTT, OPC UA or REST APIs and selecting appropriate protocol per scenario.
• Ability to prototype integrations in Python or Go and test against live devices.
• Familiarity with real-time control systems and data center energy/MEP concepts.
• Able to translate electrical constraints into software requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own the control and data contract between the facility energy controller and third-party power plant controllers.
• Define sequences of operation for the controller during normal, fault, and disruptive events.
• Specify point maps, interlocks and constraint classes for vendors; verify at factory and site.
