Job summary

Liberty Mutual is seeking a Senior Risk Engineer- Energy to evaluate conventional power and renewable energy facilities and support underwriting decisions. You will conduct on-site surveys and desktop reviews, translating complex exposures into actionable risk assessments while collaborating with underwriting, claims, and risk engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in a technical discipline.
• The job holder will have at least five years’ experience in relevant process industries.
• Demonstrated strong communication and listening skills to collaborate with Underwriters and Claims teams.
• Should be able to create/modify documents and complex spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site risk engineering surveys and desktop reviews spanning conventional power and renewable energy risks.
• Evaluate operational plants and construction projects, including large and complex exposures.
• Translate technical findings into clear, actionable risk assessments that drive underwriting decisions.
• Serve as a trusted technical resource for US Underwriters, Claims teams, and insureds.
• Travel regularly as part of the role.
