Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a cross-functional energy and procurement professional to negotiate and execute power supply contracts for AWS data centers across North America.

You will analyze market conditions, regulatory frameworks, and opportunities to structure innovative energy sourcing contracts that lower cost and manage risk. The role requires strong financial acumen, several years in energy markets, and the ability to collaborate with the Amazon Infrastructure team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field and strong analytical abilities.
• 3+ years in utility/energy industry with demonstrated analysis.
• 2+ years of power transaction or contracting in US energy markets (WECC, PJM, MISO, SPP, SERC).
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of a comprehensive clean energy and utilities strategy for AWS data centers
• Execute electricity supply contracts that create new clean energy capacity on the grid, reduce cost, minimize risk and leverage opportunities that benefit Amazon
• Work collaboratively with Amazon Infrastructure team to support the development of strategic energy sourcing opportunities
• Analyze trends and regulations in the energy space to proactively identify opportunities that benefit Amazon
• Be a passionate self-starter
