Job summary

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking an energy markets professional to join the AWS Energy Team in Texas. You will negotiate and execute power supply contracts across AWS regions, leveraging financial and market insights to optimize energy sourcing for AWS data centers.

You will analyze market conditions, regulations, and opportunities to support clean energy growth at scale across the Western US, Canada, and Latin America, while managing risk and delivering value for AWS customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
• 3+ years working in utility/energy industry
• 2+ years of power transaction or contracting experience in US energy markets (WECC, PJM, MISO, SPP, SERC)

Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of energy procurement strategies for AWS data centers.
• Negotiate and execute electricity supply contracts across AWS regions.
• Collaborate with Amazon Infrastructure to develop strategic energy sourcing opportunities.
• Analyze market conditions, regulations, and opportunities to benefit AWS.
