Job summary

Hut 8 in Miami seeks an energy and regulatory attorney to lead the drafting, diligence, and legal oversight of the company’s energy infrastructure strategy. You will negotiate power-related agreements spanning grid-supplied power, on-site generation, and asset acquisitions, aligning regulatory timelines with project delivery.

You will advise cross-functional teams, manage regulatory risk, and lead outside counsel on FERC/NERC and tariff matters, supporting financing covenants and risk mitigation

Qualifications

• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state and in good standing.
• Experience negotiating power purchase, interconnection, and utility infra agreements.
• FERC/NERC and state public utility regulatory familiarity is preferred.
• Experience supporting project finance transactions and lender diligence.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate interconnection, transmission, and other utility infrastructure agreements.
• Structure power supply and energy service contracts and related commercial terms.
• Support on-site and behind-the-meter generation procurement and EPC arrangements.
• Lead regulatory analysis of tariffs and compliance for generation assets.
• Oversee energy trading documentation (ISDA/NAESB/EEI) with risk teams.
• Advise on green tariffs, RECs, and renewable procurement strategies.
• Coordinate with finance, development, and strategy teams on project deliverables.
• Manage outside counsel and internal training as the energy platform scales.
