Job summary

State of Connecticut's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, Bureau of Energy and Technology Policy, seeks a Research Analyst Supervisor in New Britain, CT. You will supervise staff, lead research projects, and shape policy developments across decarbonization, building electrification, and energy efficiency.

The role emphasizes collaboration with agencies and stakeholders, rigorous data analysis, and clear reporting to leadership; hybrid schedule is available, with a Monday–Friday

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of professional experience in research, data analysis or economics.
• One (1) year of the General Experience must have been conducting research at the level of Associate Research Analyst.
• College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.
• A Master's degree in economics, statistics or a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.

Responsibilities

• Schedules, assigns, oversees and reviews work of staff;
• Supervises development and implementation of research projects, analysis and evaluation of data and preparation of narrative and statistical reports;
• Provides staff training and assistance;
• Conducts performance evaluations;
• Determines priorities and plans research work;
• Establishes and maintains research procedures;
• Develops or makes recommendations on development of research policies and standards;
• Acts as liaison with other operating units, agencies and outside officials regarding unit policies and procedures;
• Prepares special reports and correspondence;
• Speaks before groups of legislators, concerned citizens and other individuals regarding research;
• Performs related duties as required.
