Job summary

Xcel Energy in Minnesota is offering a paid Energy Supply Base Capital Engineering internship spanning Becker, Mankato, Red Wing, LaCrosse, and Ashland. You will support project management, learn plant systems, and read P&ID drawings while developing hands-on skills this summer.

Ideal candidates are ABET students in electrical, mechanical, civil, or chemical engineering, with a 3.0 GPA or higher and previous internship exposure.

Qualifications

• Current student, Sophomore or higher.
• ABET-accredited program in engineering.
• Willing to commute to Becker, Mankato, Red Wing, LaCrosse, or Ashland for in-person work.

Responsibilities

• Assist project engineers with project management and execution at power plants.
• Learn how power plants generate electricity and how supporting systems work.
• Read and use P&ID diagrams, electrical schematics, and plant drawings for projects.
• Learn to use project planning and budgeting systems.
