Job summary

Xcel Energy is offering an internship with the Integrated Plan Delivery team, split between Minnesota and Colorado. You will work on economic transmission analysis and broader planning tasks, participating in data collection, studies, and reports.

Current students in ABET-accredited programs pursuing Electrical, Systems, or related engineering fields are welcomed. The role requires full-time summer hours and part-time school-year commitments, with hybrid in-person requirements.

Qualifications

• Current student, Junior or higher in an ABET accredited college or university
• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Economics, or Engineering Physics
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) and part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) in-person per hybrid policy

Responsibilities

• Participate in intern development program
• Learn about Xcel’s planning process
• Collect and prepare data for studies
• Perform studies as appropriate
• Write study and assumptions reports as appropriate
