Job summary

Walker-Miller Energy Services is seeking an Outreach Specialist in Peoria, IL. The role focuses on increasing awareness and participation in our energy efficiency programs by building relationships with community partners and delivering engaging presentations.

You will organize meetings and events, prepare materials with the Marketing team, and travel up to 70% to support program expansion. Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in marketing, community organizing, or event coordinating.
• Experience with booth design and setup.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Must be able to handle a wide variety of work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be detail-oriented, organized, a self-starter and have the ability to prioritize workload.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Strong data entry skills when entering information in tracking systems/databases.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with customers, clients and team members.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and operate within the core values.
• Identify and develop relationships with community-based partner organizations, groups and networks across program territory.
• Create and staff direct-to-customers outreach opportunities including meetings of varied size and scope, including presentations and events.
• Assist program management and Marketing/Creative team in development of communication materials for assigned programs. These may include case studies, invitations, program descriptions and presentations.
• Collaborate with local partner organizations to share program updates and cross-promote resources.
• Assist Marketing team as directed with participation in larger trade show and seminar events.
• Manage event coordination from initiation to follow-up including tracking promotion, RSVP’s, securing venues, coordinating room preparation, and food service.
• Create and modify documents using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint for uploading to SharePoint.
• Share best practices and continuously help to improve opportunities to engage and educate our partners and customers.
