Job summary

Walker-Miller Energy Services seeks an Outreach Specialist to deepen community awareness and participation in its energy efficiency programs. You will identify and develop relationships with community partners, organize meetings and events, and present program information to diverse audiences.

The role involves collaborating with partner organizations, preparing outreach materials, supporting marketing, and managing events from start to finish while tracking results in Salesforce.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one year of experience identifying and developing relationships with community organizations; Faith-Based, Non-Profits, Schools.
  • Minimum one year of experience with event planning from initiation through post-event follow up, including tracking and reporting outreach efforts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for uploading to SharePoint.
  • Strong customer service & proficient in public speaking.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work some weekends and handle a wide variety of work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, a self-starter with the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Strong data entry skills when entering information in tracking systems and databases.
  • Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Create and staff direct-to-customers outreach opportunities including meetings and events.
  • Develop communication materials for programs such as case studies, invitations, and presentations.
  • Assist Marketing with participation in trade shows and seminars.
  • Coordinate events from initiation to follow-up, including logistics and venue management.
  • Track outreach results in Salesforce and report to management.
  • Prepare documents using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for SharePoint uploads.
  • Share best practices and improve opportunities to engage customers.
  • Assist with marketing strategy for targeted regions and appointment attainment.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly Outreach reports.

Job Description

The Outreach Specialist is primarily responsible for deepening customer awareness of and participation in the program suite including identifying and developing relationships with community-based partner organizations, groups, networks and directly organizing and attending meetings and events. This role will also be responsible for preparing and presenting presentations informing the community of the various energy waste reduction programs that the utility offers.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Embrace and operate within Walker-Miller’s core values.
  • Collaborating with local partner organizations to share program updates and cross-promote resources.
  • Research community events throughout the partner service territory, work with event coordinators to secure the event, standard events (logistics, EAFs/Registrations, relationships) and staff events throughout the partner service territory, while developing relationships with community-based partner organizations, groups, and networks across program territory.
  • Create and staff direct-to-customers outreach opportunities including meetings of varied size and scope, including presentations and events.
  • Assist program management and Marketing/Creative team in development of communication materials for assigned programs. These may include case studies, invitations, program descriptions and presentations.
  • Assist Marketing team as directed with participation in larger trade show and seminar events.
  • Manage event coordination from initiation to follow-up including tracking promotion, RSVP's, securing venues, coordinating room preparation, and food service.
  • Track results of outreach efforts in Salesforce and report these to management.
  • Create and modify documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for uploading to SharePoint.
  • Share best practices and continuously help to improve opportunities and ways to engage and educate customers.
  • Aid with marketing strategy and targeted regions for appointment level obtainment.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for Outreach Manager/Outreach Team Lead.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one year of experience identifying and developing relationships, as well as collaborating with community organizations; Faith-Based, Non-Profits, Schools.

Pay Transparency

This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the salary information represents the job level minimum and the job level maximum. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

A team member may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. Walker-Miller Energy Services offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Compensation Range: $21.23 - $24.14 per hour
