Job summary

LUMA Energy is seeking an operations analyst to verify and report data, forecast loads, and manage contractual requirements for planning, generation balancing, and system reserves in Puerto Rico.

You will monitor weekly forecasts, develop reports for Transmission Center operators, and ensure PPOA/regulatory compliance. Ideal candidates have 0–3 years of technical experience and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 0–3 years of hands-on experience in a technical or support role.
• Preferred: Experience working with energy management systems, forecasting and dispatch tools, load-analysis software, and platforms used to track contractual and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Verifies and reports key operational data, forecasts, and contractual requirements to support planning and balancing of generation levels, load demand, and system reserves.
• Monitors weekly load‑forecasting activities by gathering and analyzing operational data to help Transmission operators manage constraints, maintain energy balance, and prepare for potential emergencies.
• Reports weekly generator availability forecasts, capacity projections, and hourly dispatch tables following established procedures to assist Transmission Center operators in maintaining system frequency and energy balance.
• Verifies that operational activities align with company policies, regulations, strategic plans, and agreements, including PPOAs, by applying documented procedures and compliance requirements.
• Evaluates PPOA performance and collaborates with legal and regulatory teams to maintain documentation and support updates as needed.
• Builds programs, processes, and procedures in collaboration with other System Operation teams and supports the implementation of systems and technologies that improve efficiency and service continuity.
• Tracks new projects and proposed changes to existing operational standards, procedures, and reports, documenting findings and making recommendations to support reliable system operations.
• Follows established company policies, procedures, and standards to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations.
• Participates in storm restoration tasks and assigned drills to contribute to the safe and reliable recovery of services.
• Performs additional tasks aligned with role expectations and qualifications to support team goals and operational flexibility.
