Job summary

STV is seeking a data-driven Building Performance & Decarbonization Lead to serve as the primary computational strategist for sustainability advisory in Denver. The role bridges building physics, regulatory compliance, and ESG data platforms, delivering advanced energy modeling and GHG inventories.

You will consolidate fragmented simulations and automate data integration streams to handle large environmental datasets efficiently, guiding clients toward Net Zero/Passive House targets and

Qualifications

• 8+ years of advanced technical experience in energy simulation, computational design, or auditing
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with professional credentials (PE, AIABEMP, etc.); Master’s preferred
• Strong understanding of modern low-carbon solutions to guide clients in technology selections
• Proven track record with building performance simulation toolsets and high-performance system designs
• Experience interpreting energy codes and emissions legislation across portfolios
• Proficient with ClimateStudio, EnergyPlus, Grasshopper/Ladybug for automation and large datasets
• Ability to translate engineering data into clear analytics and executive-facing metrics
• Experience coordinating with external technical partners on emerging digital building technologies

Responsibilities

• Lead scoping, planning, and delivery of GHG inventories and whole-build energy simulations
• Translate legislation into programmatic improvements and decarbonization roadmaps
• Evaluate and model advanced low-carbon systems for feasibility and accuracy
• Drive integration between mechanical systems and envelope performance for energy efficiency
• Convert energy data into sophisticated models to support client discussions
• Evaluate and manage sustainability software platforms for large environmental datasets
• Define technical requirements with digitalization specialists for automated reporting
• Form R&D partnerships to pioneer advanced simulation methodologies
• Review project specs to ensure sustainability targets are contractually defined
