Job summary

Sustainable Comfort Inc in the Northeast is seeking an Energy Engineer to advance whole-building energy modeling and decarbonization initiatives. You will use eQUEST, OpenStudio/EnergyPlus, and other tools to support ASHRAE 90.1 compliance, LEED and ENERGY STAR programs, and building electrification projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of energy engineering or building energy modeling experience.
• Experience with ASHRAE 90.1 whole-building energy modeling, including Appendix G.
• Proficiency with energy modeling software such as eQUEST, OpenStudio/EnergyPlus, IES-VE, Trane TRACE, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop baseline and proposed whole-building energy models using industry-standard tools.
• Perform ASHRAE 90.1 Appendix G modeling for IECC compliance and green building programs.
• Review drawings to identify energy modeling inputs and opportunities for improved performance.
• Analyze mechanical systems and renewable energy options for decarbonization.
• Calibrate models using utility data and ASHRAE Guideline 14.
• Prepare energy savings calculations and reports for energy conservation measures.
• Support building decarbonization, electrification, and code compliance efforts.
• Travel to project sites to conduct inspections and verify energy efficiency measures.
