Job summary

Onward Energy seeks an Analyst, Power Markets & Origination to support a growing portfolio of assets, including energy settlements, revenue contract compliance, trading support, REC administration, and market research. The role involves collaboration across teams to ensure timely reporting and accurate revenue calculations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with quantitative focus; experience may substitute.
• 0–2 years of professional experience in energy markets, settlements, accounting, finance, or related field.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for building and analyzing complex models and datasets.
• Knowledge of North American electricity markets (CAISO, ERCOT, MISO, PJM, SPP, ISO-NE, NYISO) is a plus.
• Strong problem solving and analytical abilities with data synthesis skills.
• Self-starter with intellectual curiosity and ability to use tools including LLMs and regression analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support management of the portfolio’s energy settlements and revenue contract compliance.
• Assist with trading support, bid submissions, and market research.
• Administer REC deliveries, reconciliations, invoicing, and regulatory reporting.
• Develop and maintain settlement and revenue models; analyze discrepancies.
• Prepare and maintain SOPs for Power Markets & Origination processes.
• Collaborate with Asset Managers, Engineers, Accountants and Attorneys.
• Identify process improvements and opportunities for automation.
