Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking an Energy Management Systems (EMS) Control Specialist to support, repair, install, re-commission, and maintain EMS control systems across school and district facilities.

The role involves monitoring HVAC equipment, solving complex control problems, coordinating with contractors and school staff, and operating district vehicles to sites as needed. A strong background in HVAC with DDC controls and NC code knowledge is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with seven years of extensive technical training or an associate's degree in HVAC technology/DDC control systems with three years of extensive technical training.
  • Experience with pneumatic and at least two different non-proprietary DDC vendors.
  • Three years of work experience with DDC EMS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Respond to EMS operational emergencies.
  • Monitor heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Calibrate, repair or replace EMS/pneumatic controls and recommission.
  • Troubleshoot control system problems and estimate costs.
